This level is a very interesting level. It has the secret exit to the Second Secret Level, as well as one of the hardest and trickiest reactor rooms around. You will be meeting just about every type of robot in this level. Be aware of the powerups in this level...they are very plentiful...and often unguarded....:-) 

• When you reach the reactor room, you will have to defeat the reactor as quickly as possible. You may want to familiarize the layout of the reactor room before entering.
• Note the distance of the secret exit from the reactor room...it is fairly distant.
• This level has some Class 1 Drillers, so homing missiles should be saved only for them.

The blue key, guarded by several Class 1 Drones, is located in a gap in the partitioning wall shown in the map.

Before you can get to the key, the antechamber is guarded by two Class 1 Heavy Drillers. You will have to destroy them in order to get into the room containing the key.

The hostages may be accessed by a secret door. Look for a niche with a plasma cannon and a grate. Through the grate, you should see the hostages. Go out to the corridor and shoot up, and a secret door will open leading you to the hostages.

There are several blue doors in this area. One of them are guarded by Class 1 Drillers, and another is guarded by robot generators producing Defense Robots. Stay away from those routes. The safest way to a blue door is the way leading to the niche and the hostages. 

After entering the blue doors, you will have to reach a gigantic room with a lava pit. Destroy the Medium Hulks in this room first. Then, take out the Medium Drillers coming up from the lava pit. If you can, destroy the drones with mine capabilities with homing missiles if they can be seen.  You will have to go down the lava pit in order to get the yellow key.

Working your way down the two corridors in the lava pit, you will have to work your way to a room with a Super Hulk. Destroy it and the other enemies, but DO NOT TAKE THE CLOAKING DEVICE! Go into the door and pick up the extra life and the other powerups. Then, pick up the cloaking device and go down the corridor leading down from the room. When you reach the fork, turn left. You will then see the yellow key in a recess in the wall.

Once you enter the room, the robot generator will activate, forming Medium Hulks.(This is why you should take the left instead of the right. The right fork leads to the room with the robot generator, which will activate as soon as you enter the room.) Grab the key, and get back to the lava pit.

There are three yellow doors. Each will be discussed separately.

If you enter the yellow door farthest from the lava pit, you will come along a zigzag corridor with some shield powerups. It is guarded by Medium Hulks and Class 1 Drones.

This corridor also holds the secret door to the secret exit, as indicated on the map. It is located in the ceiling abutting the last zigzag wall.

To get to the red key from this area, just keep going down the corridor and find the only doors that do not require the red key.

If you enter the other two yellow doors, you will come directly into the room in which the red key is contained. The red key is guarded by two Medium Hulks and two Robot Generators releasing Medium Hulks. The generators will activate when you grab the key, so just grab it and leave the room as quickly as possible.

If you are short on smart missiles or mega missiles, you might want to take the left door out. In that direction is a cache of these missiles guarded by a Medium Hulk, and the door after leads to the reactor room.

The first thing you will probably notice is that the reactor does not appear to exist. Shooting at the column gives you the message that the door cannot be opened. That column hides the reactor. In addition, the doors with the smart missiles will not open when you shoot at them.

Upon entering the room, the robot generators will activate, forming Class 1 Drones, Medium Hulks, and Super Hulks. Dive into the lava pits and destroy the Medium Lifters there. The robots above will not attack while you are in the lava pits. Once the lifters are destroyed, attack the robots emerging from the generators. You may want to attack the Super Hulks first.

When they are all destroyed, and the generators have shut off, you must move QUICKLY. Leave the room by the red doors and reenter it. The back three rooms containing the smart missiles will open up. Immediately enter those rooms, and let the door close. Then, open the door, and head for the door next to the robot generator(not the red door). Enter it, and let the door close. Open the door, and go slightly out the room. The column will open, revealing the reactor. Destroy the reactor as quickly as possible.

If you miss the door, or if don't move fast enough, the robot generators will start all over again. You will have to repeat the above procedure if this occurs.

If in the middle of destroying the reactor, the robot generators activate, you may either remain in your spot and continue destroying the reactor or you may attempt to circle the reactor. If you continue to remain in your spot, move into the room with the cloaking device so that you will be able to reopen the column if the column closes.If you think the reactor is almost destroyed and you still are cloaked, you may attempt to circle the reactor. If the column starts to close, you must run in and jam the the column open, and keep firing at the reactor.

Once the reactor is blown, you must leave by the red door next to the robot generator. If you are heading for the normal exit, it should on the ceiling as indicated on the map. If you are heading for the secret exit, keep going FAST down the corridor until you reach a fork. Take the bottom right fork and keep going until you see the last zigzag as indicated on the map. Open the secret door and fly out to the Asteroid Storage Depot.
